What is Canyoning?
Here we call it ‘Waterfall Descents’
Canyoning (Canyoneering in the United States, Kloofing in South Africa) is traveling in canyons using a variety of techniques that may include other outdoor activities such as walking, scrambling, climbing, jumping, abseiling (rappelling), and swimming.
This is an exciting adventure for visitors who are eager to explore the lush, vibrant jungle, while also seeking to engage in physically active pursuits!
Our half day tour starts at Las Cascadas Lodge and ends back at the resort.
Why do we do it ?
The jungle is incredibly thick and lush, offering a vibrant ecosystem teeming with life. Trails are limited, making navigation somewhat challenging for explorers. However, the natural waterways carve out unique paths which provide opportunities to explore the jungle in ways we typically do not have access to.
What do we see?
Because of the inaccessibility of the jungle, which is typically dense and challenging to navigate, these winding paths create unique opportunities for adventurers to experience wildlife in their natural habitat. As a result, many of the animals found here are largely unused to any human influence, allowing visitors to observe them in a more authentic and unspoiled environment.
Who is doing this activity?
Our guests are typically small groups, families, singles, and couples.
These exciting tours can be arranged to accommodate people of many different levels of fitness, ensuring that everyone can participate comfortably while also considering the specific level of adventure they are individually seeking.
